Smores in a Jar

Homemade and from the heart.  That is what the holidays are about.  Use my smores in a jar recipe below and have a cute gift on hand for drop-in guests.

Ingredients:

1 quart size canning jar, lid and ring
Large package of 6ct or better of Peeps
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1-1/4 to 1-1/2 Cups M&M’s
1-1/2 cups of crushed graham cracker crumbs
Rolling pin
Ziploc Bag
Dry measuring cup
Optional 4×4 piece of fabric
Optional Metal Spray Paint (Paint top rings a day or two before assembling)

Instructions:

1.) Measure out 1-1/2 cups of the pre-crushed graham cracker crumbs.  You can use the pre-crushed box kind or crush your own in a Ziploc bag with a rolling pin.

2.) Place graham cracker crumbs into a quart-sized canning jar. Packing the crumbs tightly into the bottom of the jar.

3.) Place Peeps candies against the glass on all sides of the canning jar.

4. Add brown sugar to the middle jar section of the Peeps, pressing to pack the brown sugar tightly.

5. Add M&Ms to the top of the canning jar. Add rubber seal. Place 4×4 fabric down if desired and then screw on sealer ring.
