Strawberry Berry Bliss Topping
I was hoping to find a winning combination to replace my chocolate topping addiction – looking for something I could make from whole ingredients and that would give my sweet tooth a kick but wouldn’t interfere with my waistline goals too much.
10 minutes to berry bliss was a clear winner. One that I am excited about, the recipe received 5-star reviews from each of the family members.
Ingredients:
• 1 pint of fresh strawberries
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 1-1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
• 1/4 cup water
• 1/4 cup water
Directions:
1.) Wash and hull half of the berries and pat dry. The other half the berries can be refrigerated for another use.
2.) Place the berries in a food processor with the chopping blade and coarsely chop the berries.
3.) In a 2 quart saucepan, combine the cornstarch and sugar and then combine the water and strawberries. Stir the mixture over medium heat until boiling. Reduce heat to low and cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring often.
4.) Remove from heat and cool to room temperate. Refrigerate after cool.
Yummy on ice cream, muffin, and pancakes.
